Professional Training in Media (PTM)
CEMS strongly believes that there has to be industry connect in media studies. It also believes that technology has to be an integral part of any such studies in view of fast changing media scenario across the globe and the changing requirements of the media sector. So, CEMS has decided to launch an intense training programme Professional Training in Media (PTM) for the students of journalism, mass communication and mass media for giving them the feel of media working with the state-of-the-art technology at their disposal.
The first batch of PTM will take off on March, 2012. In almost all undergraduate and post graduate programmes in universities and colleges, industrial training and internship are mandatory, and so students can be seen running from pillar to post searching a media organisation which can provide them internship.
Even if they succeed in getting internship in any such organisation, they are either assigned the role of passive onlookers or enganed in getting zerox copies. They are hardly assigned the real tasks which could help them in exploring themselves and lead them to real learning.
PTM is an attempt to address these woos of media students by giving them real time experience of working in a functional newsroom having ample opportunities to grow the way they want.
